Wherever I Hang: A Hip Hop Ballet

Synopsis

Hip Hop dance meets live classical music in this urban tale of cultural displacement. Inspired by the poetry of Grace Nichols, this work explores feelings of isolation and belonging, stimulating questions of what it means to be an immigrant in England. Three dancers body-bop and breakdance their way through a newly composed score for string quartet.
